This workshop is an educational and experiential program. It may include lectures and discussion concerning health, philosophy, metaphysics, mysticism and psychedelics, as well as meditation, breathwork, experiential exercises, and gentle, Tai Chi-like slow body movements.
Participation is voluntary. Some activities, discussions or subject matter may be physically, emotionally, psychologically or otherwise challenging for some participants.
Activities and foreseeable risks
- temporary dizziness, light-headedness, changes in breathing, altered bodily sensations or changes in awareness associated with breathwork or meditation;
- muscle soreness, loss of balance, falls or other physical injury associated with movement or experiential exercises;
- emotional discomfort, distress, anxiety or other reactions to particular discussions, exercises or subject matter;
- physical or psychological reactions associated with prolonged sitting, standing, movement, meditation or breathwork;
- illness, injury or other adverse events arising from participation or from pre-existing or previously unknown conditions; and
- risks arising from the actions or omissions of other participants or persons attending the workshop.
Participants should exercise their own judgment about whether particular activities are appropriate for them. Participants may decline or discontinue an activity at any time.
This workshop is educational and is not a substitute for medical care, psychiatric care, psychological treatment, emergency care or other individualized health care. No psychedelic substance will be provided or administered as part of this workshop.
Required waiver
As a condition of attendance, each participant will be required to read and sign a Participant Assumption of Risk, Release and Waiver of Liability before participating in the workshop.
The waiver includes an acknowledgment of the risks described above and a release of claims against the workshop organizers, facilitators and associated persons and businesses, including claims arising from their negligence, to the extent permitted by law.

1. Nature of the workshop
I understand the workshop is educational and experiential and may include lectures concerning health, philosophy, metaphysics, mysticism and psychedelics, plus experiential exercises, meditation, breathwork, mindfulness and gentle Tai Chi-like movements. It is not medical/psychiatric treatment, psychotherapy, counselling or emergency care. No psychedelic substance will be provided or administered.
2. Voluntary participation
I understand participation is voluntary. I may decline or stop any activity at any time and am responsible for deciding if an activity is appropriate for me.
3. Acknowledgment of risks
Physical risks: dizziness, light-headedness, changes in breathing, tingling, weakness, loss of balance, falls, muscle strain, soreness, illness or aggravation of pre-existing conditions.
Meditation and breathwork risks: unexpected physical, emotional or psychological experiences including anxiety, emotional activation, altered perceptions or temporary disorientation.
Emotional and psychological risks: Discussion of sensitive subjects may evoke unexpected thoughts, memories, emotions or distress.
Other participants: Group environment risks arising from actions of others I cannot predict or control.
4. My responsibility
I will use reasonable judgment, seek medical advice as needed, and inform the facilitator of concerning reactions. Facilitator is not responsible for determining my fitness to participate.
5. Assumption of risk
I voluntarily choose to participate despite risks and knowingly assume those risks.
6. Release and waiver of liability
In consideration of being permitted to participate, I release and waive claims against organizer, organizer’s business, facilitator(s), employees, contractors, assistants, volunteers, owners/operators/staff of premises, and their respective directors, officers, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (the “Released Parties”). To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release them from claims arising from participation, including claims arising from negligence, except where prohibited by law. This includes personal injury, illness, psychological or emotional injury, property damage, or death.
7. Limitations of the release
This release does not waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable law.
8. Emergency assistance
I authorize reasonable steps to obtain emergency assistance and remain responsible for my own medical expenses.
9-12. No guarantee, Conduct, Severability, Governing law
No outcome guaranteed. I agree to conduct myself safely and follow instructions. Invalid provisions are severable. Governed by laws of British Columbia and Canada.
13. Acknowledgment and consent
By signing I confirm I have read this document, understand the nature and risks, participation is voluntary, had chance to ask questions, understand it contains a release including negligence to extent permitted by law, and voluntarily agree.
